I've been looking for a dialing application that would allow to dial a contact phone number using general dialing rules (including calling cards) through a phone line or using a speaker by generating DTMF tones. So far I haven't found one and had to create it myself by merging CallingCard example and dialDTMF for PocketPC. The thing works fine for me and does what I needed, however I wouldn't mind sharing it with the other users. Unfortunately I don't have time bringing the application to the user friendly stage and would prefer not distributing the application as is. Let me know if anyone is interested in continuing the project under GPL. The application is created in C++ and uses COM to integrate into the built-in contacts application menu.

The application adds "eDialer" item into the standard menu of the contacts application. It was developed and tested on WM5 with QVGA screen

Regards.

Anyone tried this? I am looking forward to seeing some reviews of this, seems like a well-feature that was missing from the original OS

hey guys,

i'm not really sure what this app does but at i guess i think it would mean being able to broadcast the 'tones' into a landline handset to dial a number?

correct me if i'm way off there, r if there are various limitations to when/where it could be used.

If thats what it does, i'll be well chuffed cause its an awesome idea

Just done some playing around with this program, its great. The default comes a sample ini where you set up the calling card info i.e. number, pin etc, finally worked out how to modify this file with my calling card details so I will tell all....

Download the edialer.cab, open with winrar, extract all the files to a folder of your choice on your PC, open the file called location.005 with notepad, change the card details to your own then save, then use a program called cabpack to create a cab file and then copy to phone and install.

Then to use highlight the contact you want to call using the calling card, press menu, select edialer, choose line (for dialing number on mobile) or speaker (for creating DMTF tones) select location (which card you wish to use) hightlight number to be called and then press the dial softkey, this brings up a confirmation of the number to be dialled then select OK

Hope that helps some people out there.

Excellent app. Works exactly as the description. Tested succesfully on WM6 using my home landline's SPA-3102 as the 'calling card' provider.

Thanks.

Once installed, you can just edit \Program Files\eDialer\location.iniĀ on the phone itself. I have replaced the default short DTMF wav files located at \Program Files\eDialer\wav with longer ones.
