MDA Vario Cannot access certificate problem

Hi,

I'm trying to sync my MDA vario to my exchange server and I've been having some problems.

I followed the instructions given to me on this link: http://www.modaco.com/index.php?showtopic=231066&st=0 however I'm still unsuccessful.

I've been told the certificate that I'm trying to install is correct and that it's something to do with editing the registry and unlocking the phone.

What i've done so far is:

1. Unlocked the phone using SDA_ApplicationUnlock.exe
   
2. Rebooted
   
3. Edited registry values: HKLM/Security/Policies/Policies/00001001 = 1, HKLM/Security/Policies/Policies/00001005 = 40, HKLM/Security/Policies/Policies/00001017 = 144
   
4. Rebooted
   
5. Clicked on certificate and got "Cannot access certificate"
   

Now I tried a different order:

1. Edited registry values: HKLM/Security/Policies/Policies/00001001 = 1, HKLM/Security/Policies/Policies/00001005 = 40, HKLM/Security/Policies/Policies/00001017 = 144
   
2. Rebooted
   
3. Unlocked the phone using SDA_ApplicationUnlock.exe
   
4. Rebooted
   
5. Clicked on certificate and still get "Cannot access certificate"
   
6. Check registry values and they have been reset to original values
   

I'm stumped!

Has anybody got any ideas or come accross the same problem?

This really belongs in the PocketPC forum area, where you should find it gets more attention

If the registry settings are reverting back to what they were then it's probably just the Soft Reset process :-

make the registry changes,

Suspend the device (briefly press the power button),

Leave it off for 10 seconds,

Power on,

Soft Reset (stick the sylus in the hole on the right-hand side of the phone)
