The wizard has a lot better lock function - but its via the power/standby button on the side. Go to settings, buttons and select the lock tab - then select Lock all buttons when device is off.

Then it will only wake if you push the power button, rather than any of the other hardware buttons. It will wake on incoming messages/calls/emails/reminders tho - so if you also go to settings, Lock, you can set the device to ask for a pin which saves it making a call from your pocket after a text comes in!

As yet there isn't a way to map the end call button to lock the device, but this little app is pretty good LINK. it will let you assign a hardware key to lock your phone, and one of the best things about it is you don't need the 'device lock' plugin on the screen.

thanks for the reply and i already have and use this feature set except for the pasword thing i find it annoying to have to do the password everytime i turn on. thats why i use the lock keys function.

I use Matt Armstrong's Device Lock mapped to a long press of the Voice Dial button to activate device lock and switch off the display. It's a great little app that doesn't require you to have the OS Device Lock plugin on the screen.
