GPRS activates for no apparent reason?

Every now and then my phone seems to be making a GPRS connection for no reason. Has anyone else been experiencing this? :)

Thanks for your response. Yes, I have setup email on my phone but I'm pretty sure it's not set to send/receive automaticly :)

Set up as Push e-mail? Push e-mail works very similar to the 'check it every 15 minutes' setting... basically, it opens a http connection to the server, and if there is no mail to deliver then it will sit waiting for a response from the server for something like 15 minutes. If it gets no response, it closes the connection and opens another one starting over. That is how it gets the 'instant e-mail' thing. If an e-mail comes in during that 15 minutes, the server will come back with a response and say you have new mail.

I'm pretty sure that's why your GPRS comes on
