Guest DREES Posted March 28, 2003 Report Posted March 28, 2003 When someone on the other end of the line during a phonecall disconnects, I am deafened by a descending tone!!! No matter what I try, I cannot change the volume of this noise!! Does anyone have any ideas which sound option I need to change to get rid of this problem?? :?: Thanks! :?
Guest Vector Posted March 28, 2003 Report Posted March 28, 2003 I've got exactly the same problem ,sooo annoying  , i have to hang up before the other person does
Guest martin Posted March 28, 2003 Report Posted March 28, 2003 I went into settings/accessibility and turned the in-call alert volume off just to get rid of it. This probably disables other in-call alerts which might not be a bad thing ? (saves the ears from tone bashing) There should be another way to amend these, it might be worth checking the registry ? I still have a loud click on answer which I'll have to try and get rid of too.
Guest martin Posted March 29, 2003 Report Posted March 29, 2003 I eventually killed the calldrop sound seperately through the registry. HKEY_CURENT_USER/Control Panel/ Sounds/Calldrop I copy/pasted a script into the calldrop values section and left the value data blank. This calldrop sound has an association with the Category Incalll whose values can be found in SoundCategories. I wasn't sure if this new calldrop script (no p) would override the Incall script (with p), but it did. I had previously tried InitVol set to 1 in the Incall category but the calldrop sound was still annoying. Alternatively instead of disabling it, you could change the calldrop sound to another midi file as its using windows/PegDisconnect.mid at the moment.
Guest enkantado Posted April 16, 2003 Report Posted April 16, 2003 Thanks Martin! I tried the in-call alert setting. That should save my eardrums from bursting. Dont think i would dare tinker with the registry just yet but your suggestion should get me by just fine. Thanks again.
Guest enkantado Posted April 16, 2003 Report Posted April 16, 2003 Oh Martin, one more thing. I dont know if the in-call setting handles this as well. If you receive an SMS during a phone call the freakin' sms alert goes off and would even make your other ear go deaf. Will the in-call alert thing handle this as well??? I've yet to have someone send me an sms while am in a call so i really dont know yet. Just throwing this concern up in the air in case any of you have encountered and solved this problem. Thanks again.
Guest martin Posted April 16, 2003 Report Posted April 16, 2003 In-call alert volume' adjust all sounds which are associated with the InCall category. I think the SMS sound has an association with the Notification category. Go into settings, profiles and select Normal Menu and edit to change notifications volume. I wonder if these deaf tones are set by Orange as default as a lot of people have complained about this.
