Guest hotlatte Posted July 17, 2006 Report Posted July 17, 2006 Using C500. Can someone advise on how I can copy all my contacts from my spv c500 onto a new sim card for another phone and at the same time leave the contacts on the phone i.e. without totally removing from the phone. quick response will be really appreciated!
Guest Shuflie Posted July 17, 2006 Report Posted July 17, 2006 If they're both WM phones then just sync your contacts to outlook (which should have come with your phone), then back out to the new phone. If you're moving to a non windows phone check if it has sync software for it, if not then you will need to copy all the contacts to your SIM. Not sure if the C500 is able to do this but it should be. Look for sim manager in your list of programs, if you run that there should be options to copy contacts from SIM to phone and from phone to SIM, you should also have an option to copy selected contacts or all contacts. On my original SPV there were options to leave the original contacts untouched or delete them after the copy. One thing to note is that contacts stored on a SIM can usually only have one number attached to them, so if possible use the sync to outlook method.

Do u reckon it should fine using sync softwares for both on this ocasion. Basic funtionality like nokia phones would have ben great that allows u to select originals on the phone..
Guest Shuflie Posted July 18, 2006 Report Posted July 18, 2006 I don't know what software came with your Samsung E900 but the lat couple of non windows based phones I've had did have some basic way of connecting to outlook, even if it wasn't very sophisticated. If the E900 came with sync software, but doesn't automatically sync contacts to outlook then look for an option to import contacts or an address book, outlook will allow you to export your contacts in a number of different formats, the most common one being CSV or comma seperated variables. Most other sync packages will allow you to import a CSV file containing your contacts, but you may need to do a bit of tidy up afterwards.
