Guest monkeygadge Posted July 17, 2006 Report Posted July 17, 2006 I'm thinking about getting an SP5 to use in the UK. Question is can I utilise the EDGE technology in the SP5 on the O2 network?
Guest martin Posted July 17, 2006 Report Posted July 17, 2006 AFAIK Orange is still the only UK network to offer EDGE :)
Guest Looby Posted July 17, 2006 Report Posted July 17, 2006 I am on Orange. Do you have to change any settings for a SP5 to pick up EDGE or does it configure automatically? Many thanks :)

Many thanks :) An EDGE capable phone will automatically use EGPRS (Enhanced GPRS) when it's available. The phones display symbol will switch from G to E when you enter a cell that is EGPRS enabled. There are no settings or configurations required on the phone itself ;)
Guest Xenzo1990 Posted July 18, 2006 Report Posted July 18, 2006 I was under the impression Orange did not have an Edge network? eh? Do they? Last time I heard they were trialing it. Not sure of its progress.
