Guest SriIyer Posted July 17, 2006 Report Posted July 17, 2006 Has any one tried I-mate sp5's firmware on (2.5.33.1) on Vodafone V1240? I read some news posts saying I need to tweak the manufacturer header. Is there any how-to type document? Also where do I register for Vodafone? TIA Sri
Guest awarner (MVP) Posted July 17, 2006 Report Posted July 17, 2006 Basically the two devices are the same, but you will need to CID unlock your device to make flashing the SP5 ROM possible. You will invalidate your warranty by doing this though. SPV-Developers.com have the tools you need to unlock the CID and SIM for free. The other option you have is imei-check.co.uk who will charge you for their service.

Guest SriIyer Posted July 18, 2006 Report Posted July 18, 2006 awarner, I did CID unlock (had to also do app unlock, I changed regkey to do it). It went successful, can I now just run the imate firmware and upgrade it? I do have the Vodafone's 2.x firmware with AKU, so if the imate's firmware crashes my phone, can I bring back my Vodafone firmware? Thanks Sri
