Guest wierdocc Posted July 18, 2006 Report Posted July 18, 2006 I'm not sure what happend, but from one day to another my WMP on my Qtek 8310 suddenly stopped starting. Can't start it from startmenu and can't run a .wav/.mid/.mp3 file to start it that way around. Does anyone know what to do, or am i needed to re-flash it again? If i go settings->sounds and fx. tries to set af .mp3 file as a ring tone, it tells me that: This ring tone file is corrupted or unavailable. Please choose a different ring tone. .mid and .wav files works fine as a ring tone. Im not sure if it has something to do with my WMP problem.
Guest bosshogg Posted July 18, 2006 Report Posted July 18, 2006 I seem to have some distant memory of this happening to me when I had my first SPV - I think it was something to do with uninstalling a media player skin, and the registry not being updated to have the default skin set back. I think it was a registry mod to get it working again, but I can't for the life of me remember what it was...
Guest bosshogg Posted July 18, 2006 Report Posted July 18, 2006 ah, found it try that..you'll need a registry editor if you don't already have one.

I dont have a HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Windows Media Player 8, but i have HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/MediaPlayer/Skins and 3 values, but all of them points at a .skn existing files in windows dir.
