Guest Arbait Posted July 19, 2006 Report Posted July 19, 2006 :) Damn, look soooo good! I want something similar in win...
Guest Confucious Posted July 19, 2006 Report Posted July 19, 2006 Surely it's easier to dump tha MAC and get a real computer? RDAH
Guest jcostantino Posted July 19, 2006 Report Posted July 19, 2006 This albatross is finally out of super pre-alpha-beta testing stage? Finally... geeze! I had to wait forever for Missing Sync for Smartphone and I just finished waiting forever for the WM5 flavor. It really is easier to just do it with a PC and ActiveSync but if you don't have or don't want to use a PC, this is the best way to go. Pity there isn't an easy way to install .exe programs, it only handles .cabs.
Guest Disco Stu Posted July 19, 2006 Report Posted July 19, 2006 Supports SP5 but not C600 - an Orange security issue or might it be an oversight by the developers ?
Guest furby Posted July 19, 2006 Report Posted July 19, 2006 Great that they've released it, and a free upgrade for 2.0 users. Yay
Guest akuma3d Posted July 20, 2006 Report Posted July 20, 2006 Great news! Now i can finally sync my phone. ;) :D :( :)
Guest NikLP Posted July 21, 2006 Report Posted July 21, 2006 Now if only someone could write an application that would sync my windows mobile device with my pc's without going to sh!t every five minutes....
Guest Confucious Posted July 21, 2006 Report Posted July 21, 2006 Its called ActivSync -works fine for me :)
Guest belfast-biker Posted July 21, 2006 Report Posted July 21, 2006 Its called ActivSync -works fine for me ;) Working fine for me now too, but over the last few years, with various devices I've grown to hate Activesync with a passion. It really is bad, bad software. That said, this software is nice, especially as a person who's bought a Mac for the first time very recently, but you still need a Windows machine realistically for full functionality - many programs need you to install exe files. Although I hear the Mac makes a really nice Windows PC nowadays... :)
Guest psuc41 Posted July 23, 2006 Report Posted July 23, 2006 Still not working with my C600, keeps on wanting to install software on my phone. Has anyone else had this problem?
Guest drfitgeoff Posted July 24, 2006 Report Posted July 24, 2006 Still not working with my C600, keeps on wanting to install software on my phone. Has anyone else had this problem? Same problem here, i fear it's Orange's evil Big Brother 1984 style locking of the phone thats the issue :)
Guest Alsicole Posted July 25, 2006 Report Posted July 25, 2006 Yes the Missing Sync installs a small file on to your phone that allows it to talk properly to the desktop version. If you're not able to install that because Orange security won't let you, it's probably worth reporting to MarkSpace to see if they can work round it. This app has been fantastic with my Vario and Powerbook.
Guest Disco Stu Posted July 25, 2006 Report Posted July 25, 2006 Have those with Orange C600s application-unlocked their phones using the tool obtained from Orange Developers ? The reason I ask is that even with security disabled I can't get Sprite to install. I wonder if the same problem occurs here. Is there a level of security that exists beyond 'disabled' that neither this nor Sprite can get past ?
Guest katiea Posted August 18, 2006 Report Posted August 18, 2006 Damn - I just upgraded Pocketmac, as I'm still using my SPV M2000 as my MDA Vario is off being mended. But the new version seems to crash even more often than the old version so I am going to try and get a refund.
Guest katiea Posted August 31, 2006 Report Posted August 31, 2006 OK having posted that previous message I realise now: Although I had upgraded Pocketmac I hadn't paid for it (phew!) BUT Missing Sync is not compatibile (they say) with OSX 10.3.9. Does anyone know if this means "won't work at all, don't even try it" or "kind of sort of works but you can't do some things"? I would love to try it out but there's no disabled or time limited trial version, sadly.
Guest thornd Posted September 5, 2006 Report Posted September 5, 2006 anyone spoken with markspace about the c600 issue? would this be a problem with all the orange spv phones?
Guest thornd Posted September 5, 2006 Report Posted September 5, 2006 (edited) answer to my own question...from markspace... USAGE NOTE: Those devices that have updated their ROM to version OS 5.1.195 (Build 14847.2.0.0) or Operator ROM update version: 5.1.195.14847 are not supported by The Missing Sync for Windows Mobile 2.5. Earlier ROM builds of the Orange SPV C600 should work with The Missing Sync for Windows Mobile. Anyone any idea whats going on here? why would the C600 be different from all the others in this way? How do i tell what the ROM version of my phone is? Edited September 5, 2006 by thornd
