Guest Xenzo1990 Posted July 22, 2006 Report Posted July 22, 2006 Hey, I got my c600, ran it straight from the box as the green light lit up minutes after I plugged it in. I've always done this with the HTC devices. Since then i've charged it up to full once. Today it got down to 9% and I needed to take it out in an hours time, so I turned it off and put it on charge. 20 minutes later I turned it on and it was up at 47%. Is this normal? I have noticed the battery has drained a little too quick for my liking but i've put this down to it being in its first few charge cycles.
Guest merwin Posted July 22, 2006 Report Posted July 22, 2006 Give it a couple weeks of use and it should be fine. New batteries sometimes take a while to get broken in. I would take it down to near-dead and then charge it full... rinse, repeat. Do that a few times and you should notice better life out of it. A hint for draining the battery... set the display to never turn off :-)
Guest mcwarre Posted July 22, 2006 Report Posted July 22, 2006 Also leave it charging for longer than necessary (i.e. when the green light shows leave it charging for another 1-2 hrs) for a few times.
Guest kam_ Posted July 23, 2006 Report Posted July 23, 2006 Lithium Ion batteries charge to 70% VERY quickly.. usually within 1 hour. The remaining 30% takes longer. Draining Lithium Ion batteries down to empty is NOT RECOMENDED. It will cause damage to your battery. Repeated charged when near full isn't recomended either.. That will also cause damage to your battery. Do a search its a well discussed topic. These old scenarios of laving it charging for 24 hours from new, and drain to empty and full charge don't apply to lithium ion batteries and will actually make them worse.
Guest Xenzo1990 Posted July 23, 2006 Report Posted July 23, 2006 Well, the second and third changes went well and the battery's performance is now a lot better than it was. Thanks all!
