I've had a Qtek 8310 for a week or so now...and I can't find a way to quit applications. After using the phone for a while, I'm forced to use the Task Manager to kill all the "minimized" applications currently running. So: how do I exit/quit/kill an application that does not have an exit menu choice (most apps from what I've seen does not have it) ??

Thankful for any help!

The nature of Windows Mobile is that it leaves idle applications running in the background to save on CPU power and load time when you next need the app - this is why they include Task Manager so you can kill any greedy apps.

Unless a program has an exit option, killing it in task manager is the only other way I'm afraid.

Yes, the smartphone is missing that feature... Until MS decides to wise up and include an easy way to kill a task, you can use XBar. It's cheap and works wonders for your smartphone. It is a quick ALT-TAB type of app, with the ability to quit single apps, all apps, all apps but selected, etc. Very useful tool. I couldn't live without it.

i reassigned my contacts button under the left softkey to go straight to the task manager for switching and killing apps easily. just replace the Short_AP1.lnk file in the windows folder with another shortcut to reassign.

I just set a speed dial to task manager. So i just press and hold "2" and the task manager pops up. Also usefull for memory reclaiming apps like oxsis hibernate and closeall.

I tried xbar a few times but could never get it to work properly. It just crashed often and did wierd things.

How did you get speed dial to open task manager?

In the start menu hover over the task menu and click the right softkey (menu) then hit add speed dial.
