Guest Liz Posted July 22, 2006 Report Posted July 22, 2006 Hi all (especially Martin! :) ) I have looked and looked and tried and tried but I still cannot get The Qtek on the 'net..... ;) I've tried all combination that I can find for 02 UK, but no luck.... I've been in the *settings* section of the forum and - well, everywhere.... all day Any help in getting the correct 02 UK setting (??) for the Qtek will be much appreciated...... Thanks Liz (still using her trusty MPX220 with the so call *smartfilp* sitting in the corner looking smug....)
Guest martin Posted July 23, 2006 Report Posted July 23, 2006 If you give details of the settings you have entered in the QTEK 8500 for O2 UK then maybe we can see the problem :)

Guest martin Posted July 23, 2006 Report Posted July 23, 2006 Liz, I thought I'd give a link to this earlier posting where you can see the settings :) http://www.modaco.com/index.php?s=&sho...st&p=467459 If you are using WAP over GPRS then you you will see that the proxy settings are slighty different. Let us know if works OK.

Thanks I'll go check them again - in the morning :D - coz it's late and I'm fed up with the (smart) flipping thing! I need a hard set for my brain :P Any setting for that? :( :) I can get on the 'net now but not on mobile sites - Google mobile, Gmail, Yahoo (&) Y messenger, or send/receive MMS's... Will let you know how I get on in the morning... (Then I have to do it all over again for lazy husband's qtek!! ) To be continued..... Liz
Guest Liz Posted July 24, 2006 Report Posted July 24, 2006 Hi No luck, cant even get on 'net today ;) I've a feeling I've done something wrong when making the connection details/pages. From start/settings the next step goes right to Connections (no data connection entry) showing individual settings (GPRS, Dial Up, Proxy etc). Scroll down to required entry and press menu brings up *advanced* I clicked that and then entered the details. Cont see any other way to do it....... I'm off to start from scratch... So will get back this evening with results - hopefully posting from the Qtek!!! Fingers crossed. :) Liz

Got It :D No MMS yet - odd problem with that, :) when I press send I get a message telling me that the active connection must be closed before sending, do I want to proceed? Press *yes* and not only does the message not send anyway (!) but I cant then get back on the 'net. Have to close all programs (in Task Manager) before I can start IE. Any thoughts? Thanks for help - again :( Liz
