Guest coleburg Posted July 24, 2006 Report Posted July 24, 2006 I have had a Imate SP5m (Tornado) and I have to say that I would stick with HTC and NEVER go back to Ericsson or Nokia but they do have one downside and thats the cameras. If the Tornado had a camera like the 2 mega pixel Sony Ericsson W800I camera then the tornado would be the best phone on the market. Granted the Tornado etc has WIFI, but I would love a complete phone and im gutted the smartflip and Breeze didnt have 2mp camera with flash. Come HTC, you could produce the greatest phones EVER, you damn close already. (just wish I could contact them to pass on my opinions)
Guest w411y Posted July 25, 2006 Report Posted July 25, 2006 (edited) Utterly agreed. The Pocket PC cameras are great thesedays (eg. HTC Prophet) but they havn't put it in any smartphones :) They're bound to come sooner or later. This has been mentioned on the forum numerously Edited July 25, 2006 by w411y

Guest cng Posted July 26, 2006 Report Posted July 26, 2006 It could be that HTC doesnt see business users to care about the camera quality. However, they did not account that after work, these business users are people too and they would want some fun. I guess having a superb camera would also mean being more expensive. I wouldnt care about the camera quality much on phones, simply because they're not worth it. For a 3.2 MP high quality phone you are paying maybe 200 CAD phone and 400 CAD + for the camera. There are 8.1 MP cameras way better quality for around 400 CAD. Phone cameras are just there just for those instant moments. If I expect to take pictures or want to, I would bring my full camera. Either way, I like HTC the way they are not. Their cameras (on Prophet at least) have improved a lot already and are better than a lot of phones out there. I'm happy to see the quality as it is now.
Guest Pigo Posted July 27, 2006 Report Posted July 27, 2006 I agree! I have a great digital camera that takes pictures that no other phone could make. Bought a Canon Ixus especially for the environment that I make pic's in bars/clubs/disco's and haven't seen one camera-phone that makes descent pictures there! camera in my phone is purely for fun or emergency's.
