About 5 days ago I sent an sms, from the UK, to a friend, who was in America, on a Canadian or USA mobile contract. This message didn't send properly, it was received by her phone and is still being received by her every 3 or so minutes for the past five days. It is the same message that is being sent & I have been able to send her other messages with no other problems.

I deleted the offending message from my outbox and sent messages folder to no avail.

I have spoken to my provider, Orange, who said that there was nothing that they could do as it had left my phone and is now 'stuck' in the message centre and is still being sent "because they centre has not been told by your friend's phone that the message has been received, hence, it is still being sent and there's nothing that can be done by Orange" !!!!! SO ANNOYING!!!!!

My friend has spoken to her provider and has been told that nothing can be done.

As you can imagine this is extremely irritating for her.

Does anyone know what can be done? or who I could possibly contact/email to stop the major problem out? Can I contact the message centre??

Please offer any help to remedy this problem or point me in the direction of another forum that may be better suited for this problem, and as you can imagine, time is of the essence so please don't hesitate to reply.

Many thanks in advance for any help.

Cheers

Alex

What kind of phone does your friend have? Let her stick her SIM card into your phone (or another phone) and receive the message there. Then you can switch back

From what I gather, his friend is in another country altogether...

As for the messages, most messages have an expiry from what I remember? If not, try figuring out if she has message reports enabled that would then let the "message center"/you know whether or not she has read the message yet... If that doesn't work, then perhaps she needs to have her sim/number temporarily suspended? Once the message center realises that there is no number to send it to, it'll come up with an error and stop.

I had this problem once...and I got a $600 phone bill with over 10,000 text messages.

This was how I fixed it.

PS.

That's why I said his phone or someone else's phone.

PPS.

Garbage rules.

While I was roaming in Albania I recieved a txt from a friend over and over again, it came through about 15 times and then I tried switching to a different network, it came through once more and then stopped. If she has a Canadian SIM and is roaming then maybe she can try that?
