Guest jobyt Posted July 28, 2006 Report Posted July 28, 2006 Hi all - wanted a definitive answer on this before I upgrade my SPV m500 to an m600. The most annoying bit about the m500 for me is that bluetooth headsets dont work for voicedial, and there wasn't any proper fix that didn't involve shouting at the handset last time I looked (which was a while back to be fair) Have done a search on here and a good google, and have seen some stuff implying that this now works correctly, but just wanted to check with users of the m600 before I take the plunge. To clarify - I want to be able to (ideally without any mods or hacks!) press the button on the headset, wait for a beep, say a name (into the headset) and have the phone dial for me - just like on my old p910i...........TIA

I bought a bluetooth headset this afternoon (just a jabra bt150). I can tell you that 'voice dialing' with a bluetooth headset works! In short, YES you can (without ANY mods or hacks), press the button on the headset, wait for the beep, say the name into the headset and Hey Presto! it dials the number (assuming you've set up voice tags that is!) I Hated the phone on Wednesday. Disliked it a bit on Thursday. Started getting 'used to' it on Friday and starting liking it today. Its my first Windows phone and not having a keyboard is a STEEP learning curve but i'm getting there... S...L...O...W...L...Y ! Hope that helps.
Guest jobyt Posted July 30, 2006 Report Posted July 30, 2006 Thanks very much for the straight answer - that has really cleared it up for me. I'm sure you'll get to like the phone - I really like my m500 - except for the lack of the bluetooth voice dial! Thanks again.....

I'm new to the SPV M600 (Prophet), so excuse me for pulling up an old post. Has anyone else experienced the following regarding voice dialing?:- I can voicedial with my bluetooth headset (JABRA BT250) successfully, although ocasionally (10% of calls??), I experience the following; I press the headset button - Say "Fred Bloggs" - "Fred Bloggs" gets repeated to me, but then when the call is actually established it remains on the phone and is not forwarded to the headset. i.e. The person on the other end cannot hear me, (or just hears me off-mic in the distance), and I cannot hear them. If I then press the headset button for a second time it does grab the call, but obviously all is not quite as intended! Anyone had any similar experience?

I get exactly the same problem using the M600 and a Motorola headset. I put it down to the fact that my phone is kept in a cradle with a built in speaker, so it defaults to that but it sounds like a more general problem. To get round it I have to get the menu up and select "turn hands free on".....clearly not hands free then. Very annoying!!
