SPV M500 GPRS Help needed! (sorry if i've posted in the wrong place...)

Hi all,

Can anyone help me out here? I bought an unlocked SPV M500 from ebay, and i'm on Orange PAYG. It worked perfectly until I saw that I could get the rom chip updated from an Orange download. I now find that I can't get any picture messages to send, and the Wap doesn't seem to work either, nor can I access Orange World.

I've contacted Orange and they were meant to send me an email that would automatically reset everything, and I've found the link on their site where you fill in your number and it should send as well, but nothing has arrived.

I've also followed their step by step guide on their site to the letter, but it still won't connect, so is anyone out there with a M500 on Orange who wouldn't mind accessing the details of the settings for WAP and GPRS and posting them up for me?

I need every detail in every box/dropdown menu as it looks like i'm missing the bits that make it go even after I've inputted the Gateway info from the Orange site. I'm assuming i might be missing the actual web or HTTP details to get it to connect as the boxes on my phone are blank.

I've considered getting it relocked and then seeing if the Orange update/reset texts will arrive, but I don't think that will work as I have no problem with standard text messaging.

Any help would be much appreciated!

thanks

Andy

Connection Name: OrangeGPRSInternet

Select a modem:Cellular Line (GPRS)

Access Point Name:Orangeinternet

User name: Blank

Password: Blank

Domain:Blank

On the proxy settings tab, tick both boxes (this network connects to the internet and this network usesa proxy server to connect to the internet), and then on the advanced tab all blank except WAP which has the server IP 192.168.71.35 using port 8080, type Socks4

That, as far as I can see, is all that you need to do .... well, it is all of the settings that are in my M500 anyway.

Hope this helps,

Cheers,

Dan.

Hi Dan,

Thanks for that, i'm very close now! I've nonw got the little yellow box on the top of the screen saying its sending a multimedia file, but it still wont go...

I don't suppose you could check the MMS Settings in the Tools tab on the bottom menu of the Messaging screen could you?

There's the first screen showing a Connect via menu, so I need the actual info in there, and clicking on the servers tab on that screen brings up a little icon saying Orange MMS, which when you touch it, opens a settings screen for server, gateway, port number and server address. I think it's these that are wrong.

If you could post those, i'll be your friend for life!!!

Andy
