Guest jimbouk Posted July 28, 2006 Report Posted July 28, 2006 P.S I cant find specs for the SPV C600 ANYWHERE! Can you?.. lol How about trying the orange website -as its an orange phone?
Guest cng Posted July 28, 2006 Report Posted July 28, 2006 (edited) Well, you've come to ask smartphone users, of course we're going to say smartphone. Unless the looks really bother you, you can get a better value device because there are no devices out there that do more for the price of a Tornado/Faraway. However, its pointless having so many features if you dont plan to even try them or use them so you might as well pick the best looker for around the same price. It depends on what you need and I guess all the users here love their smartphones because of the features and price. Edited July 28, 2006 by cng
Guest 2good Posted July 28, 2006 Report Posted July 28, 2006 Right, Done a bit of research... and i think I prob will get a smartphone, I looked on the specs on the orange site and I can't decide between the: SPV C600 or the SPV M600 - Both i can get for free with a contract, what one you think? And something it doesnt say on the website, do they support Mini SD cards? Cheers guys, -Chris x

Ive got a C600 now and it does everything I want so far, the only minus is using MSN Messenger with a text style input whereas the M600 has the qwerty keyboard. Depends what you plan to use the phone for really
Guest 2good Posted July 28, 2006 Report Posted July 28, 2006 (edited) Hmm ok, I might get the C600 as its in stock on Orange site lol, and the M600 aint... but I dunno M600 is like amazing, 2mp cam and well its got a huge screen!! :) -Chris x Edited July 28, 2006 by 2good

Its an excellent device but has no keypad etc so texting and that can be a bit of a pain. It does however have a bigger screen, you can edit word and excel docs. Have a look at the Prophet section of the PPC forums on the site, you might get more info on it. BTW the M600 uses a standard SD card so you can use the mini one if you have the adaptor card that came with it. hth gR
Guest NikLP Posted July 31, 2006 Report Posted July 31, 2006 I've gone from Smartphones to a PPC (M500) and I've never regretted it. There's a lot more software for it and having a touchscreen is better IMO. You can still text 1-handed if you're clever enough and texting with a stylus via the PhonePad is faster than any other method I've used.
Guest danwatson1974 Posted July 31, 2006 Report Posted July 31, 2006 (edited) Sounds like you could use a C600 ...... certainly NOT the LG Chocolate :) Here is a Review at Coolsmartphone.com of the C600 to give you an insight ... and yes, you will be able to use that Mini SD card ;) Cheers, Dan. Guest danwatson1974 Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 Ok.... here's the deciding factor ....... You CAN get MSN Messenger on the M600 :)

Guest 2good Posted August 5, 2006 Report Posted August 5, 2006 1 thing you haven't mentioned is the size od the M600. I think if the size and the lack of keypad isn't a problem for you then definatly fgo with the M600. If they are then go with the other. best of luck either way r g Yeh but i cba to pay
Guest 2good Posted August 5, 2006 Report Posted August 5, 2006 S O R T E D! :):D Lol.. I went on Mobiles.co.uk right, and they got an Orange Contract deal which is: 500 mins, 500 texts - 17.50 for the first 14 months and

Guest FATGOONER Posted August 11, 2006 Report Posted August 11, 2006 Lol Dont get a smartphone get a nice Nokia 5110
Guest nvkid909 Posted August 29, 2006 Report Posted August 29, 2006 i would say forget anything made by HTC if you are going on contract, poor build quality units. i've owned four of their SPV's which i would still be using if they hadn't failed, because i love smartphone capability. how any operator puts out yearly contracts with phones that won't last a year is beyond me. i'd probably move to PPC as theres better choice of manufacturers.
Guest MPXtricky Posted August 30, 2006 Report Posted August 30, 2006 I would say go for an Orange SPV M3100 which is PPC and made by, err, HTC - it's the dogs danglies! i would say forget anything made by HTC if you are going on contract, poor build quality units. i've owned four of their SPV's which i would still be using if they hadn't failed, because i love smartphone capability. how any operator puts out yearly contracts with phones that won't last a year is beyond me. i'd probably move to PPC as theres better choice of manufacturers.

TWICE. i thought the e100 / e200 / c500 / c550 were also "the dogs danglies" but i was wrong. why on earth would i want another htc model after all that?
