Guest TrendSetterX Posted July 29, 2006 Report Posted July 29, 2006 When I'm on the phone, and a call comes in, the incoming number/name is displayed and I'm given the option to swith over to it. However, it performs a complete switchover and hangs up on the original call so there's no way to switch back over to it. Is there some call-waiting registration or somesuch I need to do? I'm a former attws user who recently finally made the account switch to Cingular. I have not yet registered the IMEI for my sp5.
Guest x7tech Posted October 30, 2006 Report Posted October 30, 2006 I just had this exact same problem. There was a "provisioning error" that occured when they swapped your account from AT&T to Cingular. Call Cingular Tech support and tell them this, and they will call their more advanced techs and get it fixed in a matter of minutes. Just an FYI - it is not a handset issue (though when I first noticed the problem I also had an i-mate SP5). This error persisted on 3 handsets for me, and 2 for my wife (who had a RAZR on the same Cingular account). Once they fix the provisioning error, call-waiting (and conferencing, etc) will work jsut fine for you.

I've been hesitant to go through the headache of calling Cingular support, but it looks like I'm going to have to bite the bullet and do it. Thanks again!
Guest The Doctor Posted October 30, 2006 Report Posted October 30, 2006 Thanks! I've been hesitant to go through the headache of calling Cingular support, but it looks like I'm going to have to bite the bullet and do it. Thanks again! I was going to say its probably a network specific issue at i've had no problems over here in the UK with orange..... (beside the complete LACK of CS and unlimited data <_< ) Phil
Guest TrendSetterX Posted March 3, 2007 Report Posted March 3, 2007 Followup... I finally got around to talking to Cingular Support and then going to a Cingular store (and waiting for an hour) to get a new SIM card. The new SIM card solved everything! Thanks for the help, guys.
