removing qvga

Hi, can any one help me with this problem. I bought a spv c550 with tom tom mobile 4? It also had the QVGA thing to make it the right size to view. I could'nt get it to work right so i have just purchased tom tom mobile 5 and removed QVGA but the icons on the screen size seems to be big. Is there anyway of putting this right. Help would be appreicated.

As the phone is secondhand I would suggest a hard reset to restore it back to it's factory settings and remove any junk left behind from teh previous owner.
