Rearranging the Start Menu

Hi,

Just got my Qtec 8500... and loving it... just one question...

How can I move my favourite applications to the first window that comes up when I press the start key?

Or put it as a scroll down menu rather than those crappy pictures!! :)

You can arrange (7?) menue items with: jeyo personalizer

You can switch to list view with grid toggle

Open up Reg edit and go to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Shell/StartMenu

Select 'Values'

Select 'Order'

In the value data you can now change the order of the links in the start menu.

You must add '.lnk' at the end of the program name.

Now perform a soft reset on your phone.

I think you can only order the first 14 items if I remember correctly.

You can even download a free program call gstart (google it, its on airfagev software somewhere)

originally designed for WM2003SE phones to allow grid start menu a la WM5, it also includes the ability to rearrange the order of the menu which will carry over to the default start menu :rolleyes:

AbstractStart will also allow you to rearrange the order of the start menu. Also it has the ability to move programs up as their hit counts increases.
