What you should be able to do is write some of the code in C++ (the service interface) and the rest in C#. I've seen MS use that architecture for instance in creating a Today Screen for PPC in C# (http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms839442.aspx). What would be really useful is if someone would write a generic service host that any C# service could use...
