Powerslide Speed burst - Mario Kart

Hiya,

I was wondering if anybody knew how to do powerslide speed burst on mario kart as i need to be able to do 5 in this mission so that i can continue. I now that the simple slide is R but i can't figure out the rest.

Anyone Know??

What console are you playing on?

Having said that. It's a lot easier on a corner than on a straight but not impossible, for eample on th N64;

1. You are heading up to a left hand corner.

2. Press and hold R to hop, pointing slightly to the right.

3. Hold the joystick to the left, into the corner and you should start sliding.

^I think you've got that bit covered^

4. Keep pushing the joystick in the opposite direction (right), not too hard. And then pull it back to the left so that you're still going around the corner.

5. It's just a bit of practice to find out how much and how often to rock back left to right. But basically you want to press it harder to the right than normal

6. You'll see the skid symbol (i forget what they look like) and they will turn yellow,orange and then red the more you press to the right.

Unfortunately my memory fails me a bit here

7. I think it's when they turn red. (you can hold it there for a little bit before you spin out)

8. Let go of the joystick and you'll hear your character say something - "lets a go" for Mario

9 And you should get a boost out of the corner.

I remember it being pretty similar on most nintendo platfroms. It felt quite nostalgic writing that, going to break it out later and play

When you come to the corner press R to start sliding and then wiggle the D-Pad left and right repeatedly whille slifing, if you do it quick enough and enough times you'll see sparks next to your wheels and hear a noise. letting go of R will brign you out of the slide with a boost.

When you get really good it's possible to slide in straight lines and such so you're constantly boosting. It's the only way to beat staff times. :)
