Renaming email accounts

I have stupidly mis-spelled the name of the email account on my phone.

How do I rename it? Editing the name is not possible.

That is a good question, especially since we've all done that at least once (I've done it several times since I'm a little slow on the uptake). I would try searching the registry.

I have.

But it's worse than that. My phone crashed and when I rebooted the email account was missing.

When I try to recreate the account it says the name already exists.

If I could find where it was I could delete it.
