Guest killerost Posted August 9, 2006 Report Posted August 9, 2006 I'm using 8300 firmware on my SP5m because: - The phone runs faster - With the SP5m firmware the joystick control is crappy, I tought my joystick was broke because it wouldn't go downwards, but with the qtek firmware it worked flawlessly - I don't like the i-mate startup screen :) - The "internet" button takes you to internet favorites, not i-mate.com - Qtek firmware is closer to original HTC firmware - The i-mate firmware messed up my intel 2200bg wlan connection when using activesync (the activesync was in rndis mode, note serial as default.. with the qtek firmware I don't have any problems) You can get qtek 8300 firmware with english, finnish, swedish, norwegian, danish, slovacik, hungerian, dutch and french support from www.smartmobil.no.

Since the firmware isn't for the same phone you must edit it to be able to use it.. several guides in this forum.

Guest The Doctor Posted August 13, 2006 Report Posted August 13, 2006 - I don't like the i-mate startup screen :) you can change your splash screens quite easily. just download the attachment, extract and run the exe. to change your splash screen go Tools>Immediate Flash Tools>Change device splash screen>Tornado (240x320) ;) PhilTyphoonNBFTool041_bin.zip
Guest RIPin@ Posted August 15, 2006 Report Posted August 15, 2006 (edited) Sory, but Tools>Immediate Flash Tools is disabled on my program. I have just install new ROM 2.0.13.0 FROM Cingular 2125 . 1. No Wifi. 2. Hardware Button (EI, Next, Play, Prev) not work at all. But fix some file, i have managed to do it. =) And i assigned IE button to the Task Manager. Edited August 15, 2006 by RIPin@

Would this work on a iMate SP5? Any dangers involved? Is it easy to switch back to the iMate ROM?
