Hello,

I've just bought myself a pair of the Samsung beasties with a view to flashing my C600 to the update to get stereo (at the moment the phone only sees them as a handsfree kit, I presume this is normal?).

Just wanted to clarify a few things:

1) Firstly upgrade phone to imate SP5 rom

2) App unlock phone

3) Apply Orange AKU2 update or Modaco specific update (using TyphoonTools?)

4) Enjoy the bluetooth-ness of stereo headphones?

If anyone could shed advice/light from past experiences that'd be dead handy.

Also, I wouldn't mind using these headphones with my PC for VoIP/Skype etc... - anyone done this yet? I paired them with the PC but wasn't able to get output through them... grr.

Cheers

:)

heya mate yeh I did this with my C600 and all is still well. I very much doubt it will be perfect without jumps etc but its still pretty damn good.

Yeh so you will need to unlock the CID of your C600 and then flash it with your latest Imate SP5 aku2 rom.

Then you do application unlock and then simply install the two cab files needed to put A2DP onto your phone!

After that you will be able too asign the headphones as "wireless stereo".

If I were you I really would flash your phone with orange AKU2 as you have to mess around with a Developers unlock which you have to wait a few days for and imho the SP5 rom runs ALOT better on the C600 making your c600 cleaner and faster.

Assuming you know how to unlock your CID and also its normal for it to comeup as headset as your phone has not got A2DP capabilities yet.

Hope this helps

Sam

Hey hey,

Ok, CID changed and iMate SP5 rom applied - so far so good. Just about to start doing the other bits and pieces. Tell me, you said:

"If I were you I really would flash your phone with orange AKU2 as you have to mess around with a Developers unl..."

Starts off like I really should apply the Orange update, then towards the end kinda sounds like I shouldn't... lol.

AAAARRRRGGGGGG.

Adding the registry entries for A2DP is a P.I.T.A! I'm too lazy to add manually and I've failed to import the registry entries with PHM or Resco - any takers?!

Sorted. Damn this rocks. ;)

Think I'm staying with the SP5 rom, I don't see any reason to go back to the Orange rom. This one has all the functionality I need, without Orange's propaganda all over. I need that like a fish needs a bicycle. :)

Thats cool, I'd kinda guessed after using the SP5 rom for about ooo 20 seconds that it was pretty pointless doing so. I'm on Vodafone corporate, without GPRS so all the Orange related crap on there is pretty useless to me anyway.

killerost mentioned in another thread that the Qtek rom was faster and blah blah better, but in all honesty - despite it being better or not I can't see any reason to change again.

My phone works, the A2DP works flawlessly (no drop outs!), it's quick, hasn't got any Orange gubbins, and I'm pretty much sorted with it. With the exception of swapping the fascia over for the spanking new one fluffcat sorted me out with last week anyway, just gotta get my t5 delivered :)

Cheers for the pointers, much obliged.
