Are you using native bt or a third party dongle?

You should be able to add com ports in the BT settings.

You have to go into your bluetooth settings on the PC, add a COM port.

Then go into activesync, and set it to allow sync via that com port.

Then on the phone, remove and re-add the pairing with the PC, and you should now see an activesync service.

Once it is set up, it works great!

on the fone i can only have com 6,7

hate to be a doom and gloom merchant but...

give up now whilst you still have your sanity!! Activesync and Windows BT is a nightmare. You could follow all the tutorials we have here and still and up failing to get it working.

You will no doubt recieve countless recommedations to unpair this and that, set this COM port and recognise that but it will all be to no avail. You will still get the greyed out box just where you dont want it or the COM ports that you want are not recgnised by either the phone or the laptop.

My favourite every time i see a new method of trying to fix it is to see about a dozen COM ports available on the XP machine that number in hundreds!! seriously!! COM101-128 are often available. Try the same thing a day later and then i get COM64-89 available!!! aaaaaarrrggghhh!! and all these ports are not selectable by Activesync or the phone. All ActiveSync gives me is a choice of COM3 or 2... and THEN it laughs in my face by a dialogue box popping up saying that i cant choose that port - no matter which one i choose!!!

the best bit for me though is every time i try to get it working, i always lose the BT settings for my GPS reciever and spend the first twenty minutes in the car getting that back online... and then i'm late for the appointment!

You could always try to re-install ActiveSync. that'll kill a bit of time whilst the kettle boils... it wont work tho!

like i said, i hate to be the bearer of bad tidings - but if it doesnt work first time, walk away now...

i feel like Marvin from Hitchhikers Guide after that...

I managed it on my M500 recently, and I've just done it again for my new M3100.

The only genuine advice I can offer would be keep playing with things. I got the M500 in 3 hours out an afternoon and the M3100 in 5 hours over two evenings.

If it doesn't matter that much to you, ...

I got my Vodaphone v1240 (flashed to QTEK 8310) working by adding the com 6 and re-pairing my phone to the pc afterwards...
