I'm brand new to the smartphone world, so this is probably a pretty stupid question ... my Cingular 2125 is advertised as having 64MB Flash ROM and 64MB SDRAM, but when I look in System Info I see this: Storage Memory 21MB; Program Memory 45MB ... is this just the Flash memory that it's showing?

thats just how it devides it up for the system to use, i remember on ppc how you can adjust which get what and how much. but i guess you cant on wm. what i would suggest is for you to get a large memory card.

i got my self a 2gb card off amazon for about 37 shipped. now with that in the phone i never worry about memory this or memeory that, because it all goes on the memory card to make it all easier.

WIth a 2 gig storage card, you can store a ton of stuff including lots of songs. The phone is a pretty decent mp3 player. But you need to direct stuff to the memory card when you are installing or saving data.

Yep, I'm planning to get a big miniSD card ... I still don't get what it's showing me though ... I think I'm supposed to have a total of 128MB of memory (64 ROM and 64 RAM), but what it is reporting only adds up to 64. Where's the other 64?

It's used to hold the OS, right?

I think that the ROM/firmware (i.e., OS, right?) is something like 38MB, so there should be some usable space left over?
