Guest urbanbiker Posted August 10, 2006 Report Posted August 10, 2006 I loaded PocketPlayer on my Cingular 2125. It loaded and I can execute the program from FileManager and it works great, but no icon appears in the start menus. I created a shortcut, but I cannot figure out how to get it on one the start menus. Any help would be appreciated. Urbanbiker...

Hi simply copy the shortcut you've created into "\windows\start menu" folder on your device...
Guest urbanbiker Posted August 10, 2006 Report Posted August 10, 2006 Hi simply copy the shortcut you've created into "\windows\start menu" folder on your device... Thanks, it worked like a champ. There is even a nifty music icon. One more question: how do I remove icons for programs I do not want or use? e.g. GETGOOD email icon and associated program. There is no *.lnk in the StartMenu. In fact, there is nothing in the StartMenu.

Hi humm you're "one more question" seems interesting.... if I good understood, you've an icon for "getgood" in start menu, but when browsing to \windows\start menu folder, you don't see anything ?? :)
Guest gohome190 Posted August 11, 2006 Report Posted August 11, 2006 Same problem here... Please someone answer. Thanks
Guest urbanbiker Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 Hi humm you're "one more question" seems interesting.... if I good understood, you've an icon for "getgood" in start menu, but when browsing to \windows\start menu folder, you don't see anything ?? :D I did not see any files in the StartMenu at first. Then I reset my preferences to show hidden and system files. Voila! I could see the files in the StartMenu! However, I cannot delete, copy or move any of them. I've tried lots of times. For example, I have a GetGood icon which is to be used to load/join/use their push email. I'm not interested and would like to remove the icon and associated file(s) from the StartMenu and other directories. There are other files I would like to remove as well, including stock gif files like boy.gif. I hope to free up system memory by getting rid of files that I will never ever use. There are quite a few. I've searched MoDaCo and can't find any references. I'm open to any ideas and suggestions.

Guest nickcornaglia Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 Application Unlock your phones and you will be able to delete ROM shortcuts in the Start Menu.
Guest urbanbiker Posted August 24, 2006 Report Posted August 24, 2006 Application Unlock your phones and you will be able to delete ROM shortcuts in the Start Menu. I recently tried to app unlock my Cingular 2125 using PHM Registry Editor. I figured that I gotta start sometime and the worst that would happen is that my phone would be totally hosed and I would have to hard reset or throw it in the trash and buy a new one. Having never done it before, I looked forward to an adrenelin pumping, nail biting experience, but was disappointed. The changes I made using the editor would not take for some reason. Is there some setting in PHM that I missed or what? I would really like to app unlock my phone.
