2 gig Sd card reads as 1.88 mb

Bought a Mini Sd card 2gig for my MDA Vario and when i put it in my card reader it shows up as 1.88mb which was odd and reads the same in my Vario. Anyone else get the same ????

I think its something to do with the phone reading it as 1000mb as a gb and not 1024mb. Not sure sorry have you tried formatting it?

My 2gb card also reads 1.88.

Keep in mind that a memory card is like a little hard drive and that means there is some overhead for the file system.

512mb cards read as 490 something, etc. (or was it 470 something... can't remember)

It shouldnt have problems with cards under 4 GB. However, it concerns me that you are getting 1.88 mb, I hope you are getting 1.88 GB, which is absolutely reasonable.
