Vodafone vs. t-mobile flext...?

I was wondering if anyone would be willing to comment on their experiences between using vodafone and t-mobile in terms of tariffs and the relative costs thereof.

Having been with orange for five years, i recently left with hopes of getting a sony ericsson m600i from t-mobile on the flext tariff.

Frustratingly, T-mobile pulled the phone last week. So now i'm considering going to vodafone. The tariff they've offered for 35 quid a month boils down to 500 minutes and 500 texts and some other convoluted deal regarding after-hours calls, which sounds a bit ropey to me.

Am I missing something here? The sales rep kept insisting this offer knocked the spots off t-mobile's tariff. i just dont see how.

Any advice from vodafone/t-mobile flext users would be fantastic.
