Getting an M3100 on Upgrade?

I got mine free on panther55 - ordered thursday am (thanks to ringing orange direct just in case it was available).

I also got a call on Saturday morning from orange shop richmond surrey asking if I wanted one of their newly arrived 3100's, as had I called on Wednesday and asked them to let me know when they got some and I could have it as an upgrade.

Alas, no deal yet - none of the shops on Oxford St. want to entertain the thought of upgrading me onto an m3100 (they're all reserved for new customers apparently...). I'm UIC 5, which means an upgrade should be nice and easy and cheaper - though I'm only 6 months into my current contract. I've been quoted
