Hi,

I've just got the SPV M3100 and I want to purchase the Wayfinder software.

If there's anyone out there already using this could you please help witht the following questions.

1. How long does it take to log onto the satellites?

2. When planning a trip, does it offer different routes?

3. Does the traffic master add on just alert you to traffic or offer to re-route around the problem?

4. How quick does it re-route you if you make a mistake and take a wrong turn?

Why Wayfinder? TomTom or CoPilot are generally cosidered to be better.

I have tried TomTom and CoPilot but not Wayfinder.

Hi,

Wayfinder was attracting me because of its:

1. Low price with subscription basis

2. All map downloaded etc so always upto date

3. Has the traffic master function which is V important to me (I don't think the other two have this?)

4. M3100 has Micro SD so do the other two run with this?

Please enlighten me if I'm wrong or misguided on the above!! I need some advice :)

Hi, ive been using wayfinder for a couple of years now and I run http://www.wayfinderlife.co.uk

1. How long does it take to log onto the satellites?

Depends on the GPS device and how long its been off but usually about 45 seconds if it has a clear sky. Longer if its hidden away and never if you own a Renault or other car with coated windscreen.

2. When planning a trip, does it offer different routes?

You can set it to fastest or shortest. Or you can change the prefs to do it based on foot or taxi/bus

3. Does the traffic master add on just alert you to traffic or offer to re-route around the problem?

It re-routes, very well actually. It will figure out which route is quickest but sometimes its quicker to sit in the traffic than go around it where traffic could also be bad.
