Can the Keypad Unlock Keys be changed on 2125?

So I've had my 2125 for a week now and love it. EDGE network is pretty fast, work email, gmail, blah blah blah It's great.

Anyway, I am running into one issue with it that I did not have on my SMT5600 previously.

On the 5600 to unlock the keypad you had to press the soft unlock key and then '#'

On the 2125 you press the soft unlock key and '*'.

The issue I am having with this is that those 2 keys are on the same side of the keypad, so when it's in the case and on my hip in the car the seatbelt is mashing that side of the keypad enough that it is randomly unlocking the keypad.

I noticed this because I had all kinds of new contacts in my phone with names like '000+0+'...which is kinda funny, but a pain.

Is there a way to modify the phone so I can set the unlock key back to the '#' ?

Sidenotes: I could take the phone off but wouldn't feel it vibrate, I can't hear it either cause my Evo is loud and no ringtone can penetrate it
