Guest jotto Posted August 16, 2006 Report Posted August 16, 2006 I've got a HTC Mteor and I'm very happy with it, but there is one big nuisance: when the screen goes black after a few seconds of inactivity, I have to press a button to turn on the screen again. This is fine, but this keypress is sent to the active application. On my previous phone, an SE K750i, the first keypress was only used to quit "screensaver" mode. If, for example, the SMS inbox is the active application and I press the left key to turn on the screen again, this keypress is sent to the SMS application, resulting in the "new message" dialog. Quite irritating. The best solution I've found is to press the power button. I have to select cancel in order to get rid of the "quick list", but at least I don't tamper with the active application. Any ideas?

Hi More a workaround than a solution, is to install "autokeylock". in the functions, you can set a screen saver and / or lock keypad. even with only sreensaver (and no lock), first keypress will be handle by autokeylock to activate screen :) while typing a question come to my mind. if you push joystick left/right, it doesn't activate screen ? Pushing the joystick right/left does indeed activate the screen, but it also sends a left/right joystick event to the application. This causes Pocket Music to switch tracks, for example. Harmless, but irritating. EDIT: It won't install on HTC MTeoR.. and the security part of the registry is locked, so I can't application unlock the device ;) Edited August 17, 2006 by jotto
