Guest csxxx Posted August 16, 2006 Report Posted August 16, 2006 Okay, I have got myself a nice shiny new i-mate sp5 ( aka qtek 8310 and xda iq ). I have installed binary's smart explorer. I cannot manage to recieve anything via bluetooth. i can send files just fine using smart explorer. I have set my bluetooth status to 'discoverable' (even tried just leaving it as 'on' but nobody could see my phone). People can see the phone when set to discoverable but not send to it. I get no message asking me to accept data etc.. the sender just gets told they have failed. I have tried to recieve from nokia (n70) and one of the sony erricson walkman phones.. no joy. I'd be really grateful if anyone can help.

Hi (sorry my menus are in french... approximatly translated..) goto start menu / settings / 6-connections /1-send and check "allow to receive incomming datas" should solve your problems. :)

This doesn't work. I think 'beam' refers to the infra red anyway. Phones still cannot connect via bluetooth. anyone else know? ;)
Guest csxxx Posted August 17, 2006 Report Posted August 17, 2006 Ooops, may bad. You are correct. It wasn't working still because to receive bluetooth beams, you must also have the screen light on at the time of connecting.. it will not work if the phone is sleeping. :) Thanks.

Hi cheers :) wasn't aware of that screen must be on... interesting ;)
Guest Looby Posted August 17, 2006 Report Posted August 17, 2006 If you go to start\settings\connections\beam and tick the 'receive incoming beams' it should work ok. The beams applies to infrared and BLUETOOTH connectivity. :)
