Guest Howski Posted August 16, 2006 Report Posted August 16, 2006 Hi, I've just upgraded to a T-Mobile Vario from a C500 and I have a few questions: Is there a list of compatable software from the C500 or older SPVs? Can you recomend some good software? Can you recomend some good games? Can you sync via WiFi with the normal version of ActiveSync? What emulators are out there? A megadrive one would be nice.... Whats the best MP3 player out there? Cheers for any input. -How.
Guest Laser_iCE Posted August 17, 2006 Report Posted August 17, 2006 (edited) Don't want to beat a dead horse, but a lot of these questions have been answered numerous times on the forums... Is there a list of compatable software from the C500 or older SPVs? Most sofware written for WM2003 will work on WM5, however due to the different screen size, will either appear smaller (only based in the upper left corner) or will just not run at all... But writing a list of compatible applications would take forever, as there is a LOT of software out there. Can you recomend some good software? What sort of software :) Can you recomend some good games? What sort of games ;) Can you sync via WiFi with the normal version of ActiveSync? No. (not yet) What emulators are out there? A megadrive one would be nice.... http://peeknpoke.emuunlim.com/feature_powerpc.htm Whats the best MP3 player out there? Personally, I prefer pPod and TCPMP for my media. Guest hotphil Posted August 17, 2006 Report Posted August 17, 2006 There's some older threads with lists of good freeware and recommended software to install - might be worth a trawl back a few pages. I've not done it, but I was led to believe the Wi-Fi ActiveSync is possible using older versions of ActiveSync (pre 4 ?). I think it was disabled due to corporate security concerns rather than any technical reason in the newer versions.

I honestly thought there would be a pinned topic to that effect. As far as software and games goes a list of the top few would be nice. Cheers -How.
Guest awarner (MVP) Posted August 17, 2006 Report Posted August 17, 2006 Is there a list of compatable software from the C500 or older SPVs? You now have a PocketPC where as the C500 is a Smartphone, it's two completely different systems so you realy want to be looking at completely new software. Can you recomend some good software? Can you recomend some good games? What sort of software or games do you like? Puzzle type games then Astraware do a good range. Have a look in the MoDaCo fairdeal software store (link in the top title bar) My personal favourites at the moment are Chuzzle and Zuma Can you sync via WiFi with the normal version of ActiveSync? Nope WiFi with Activsync is no longer possible. What emulators are out there? A megadrive one would be nice....There will be some around but I don't really use emulators so can not help you on names. Whats the best MP3 player out there? I'm lazy and just use the built in player but I would say it's more a personal thing to what player will suit you, there are numerous one around so best to give them a go and then decide.
Guest jimbouk Posted August 17, 2006 Report Posted August 17, 2006 Activesync over wifi works with exchange servers - just not with your desktop (although I did read somewhere that someone had worked out a convoluted way to get it to work).
Guest awarner (MVP) Posted August 17, 2006 Report Posted August 17, 2006 Sorry was not considering exchange as it's something I do not use.
Guest Howski Posted August 17, 2006 Report Posted August 17, 2006 Games like Tetris would be nice, mind you that game is not the same unless your running the old Game boy version. -How.
