Help - Can't play my recorded videos

Hi,

Yesterday,for the first time, I tried out the video recorder on my 8310.

When I went to play them back and clicked on the thumbnails, I got this error message

'Can't find Video_xxx. Make sure the filename and path are correct and that all required libraries are available'

I copied them over to my PC to play and found that nothing would play them either.

Anyone any idea what's gone wrong?

What format are they in? mp4, 3gp, avi, etc...

You can try using VurtualDub to repair them. Google it, it's a free program. If it loads your video, then use the Video -> Check for errors menu to attempt to fix it.

WOrked a couple times for me when I got corrupted videos, though I never got your error before...

They're mp4s and I've now been able to play thme on my PC at work - just need to get the right codecs on my Home one.

But why can't the phone play them itself ?

Well, I no it's not a solution to your problem, but you could try installing TCPMP and see if that'll play them...

It's a free program, and it kicks the butt of the media player on the phone. Perhaps the best parts are the ability to play almost any kind of playlist, music, and video, and the ability to adjust the speed of playback in everything as well.

I'ts a large install though, so you'll want to make sure you have a storage card to install it onto...

Otherwise, I have no idea why you're getting that error.
