Guest KDNewbie Posted August 17, 2006 Report Posted August 17, 2006 (edited) Hi Folks, For no apparent reason, my phone decided to freak out and lock itself this afternoon. I am an o2 user and was using a unlocked c600 from orange with no problems for the last 6 months now. While synching, it froze up and now does not recognise my o2 sim card. I have put in a colleagues orange sim and it works fine so im guessing its somehow locked itself again. Anyway, i need to re-unlock it again but am a little wary of all the regedit stuff and "hacking". I am very new to all this stuff and got a bit confused with the modifications I have to make that are shown on the threads. Can anyone recommend one of these internet sites that will just send you a code? Are any of them actually legit? I know it's a bit of a cop out but as a newbie, the last thing I want is a broken phone with no support from either Orange or O2. Any help anyone can give would be greatly appreciated. Cheers. I think that these guys are ok.... many people use them and report no problems. Don't know if there is a way to do it for free though....... By the way , have you tried another O2 SIM card? It may just be a problem with that particular SIM?? Edited August 17, 2006 by danwatson1974

I did put another 02 sim card which did work with the phone so I just took that out and tried with my own sim again and , hey presto, it worked fine. These smart phones are just so temperamental - almost tempted to get a blackberry and get on with it.... almost.
