Change Bootscreen and Shutdown screen in WM5

hello!

i followed the directions on how to change the bootscreen and shutdown screen that i found here on modaco by replacing the image files in the windows directory but when i shutdown or start up they remain the same. anyone know how to do this for WM5? (i believe the directions were written for a previous WM release and they no longer apply...)

by the way, i have a t-mobile SDA (US version).
