Guest James Posted August 18, 2006 Report Posted August 18, 2006 Ok, while doing some plastering last week with a friend we happened to stumble across the subjest of cheesy 80's (and others) film 'power tunes'... from films like Top Gun and Rocky now, after about an hour he mentioned the song from 'The Karate Kid' at the final fight. i found it on the 'Karate Kid Soundtrack' and i recon its the best! ladies and gentlemen, i put this forward as the best film 'power tune' ever...... i am prod to prersent..... 'You're The Best' by 'Joe Esposito' (30 Sec clip) you_the_best.mp3 have you got better?......... i doubt it!! :)
Guest awarner (MVP) Posted August 18, 2006 Report Posted August 18, 2006 Film: Iron Eagle Track: One Vision by the one and only Queen :)
Guest Pondrew Posted August 18, 2006 Report Posted August 18, 2006 Film: Iron Eagle Track: One Vision by the one and only Queen ;) Iron Eagle? That's got to be one of the worst films of all time!!! :) Wouldn't it be better to quote Highlander? Or was One Vision not in that? (if not it was one of the ONLY Queen songs not to be!!!
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted August 18, 2006 Report Posted August 18, 2006 How about 'Gimme the Prize' from Highlander while we're on a 'Queen' theme? 'Dangerzone' from Top Gun is probably the best :) P
Guest jimbouk Posted August 18, 2006 Report Posted August 18, 2006 Flash, aaah aaaah, saviour of the universe...
Guest Pondrew Posted August 18, 2006 Report Posted August 18, 2006 Flash Gordon, I love that film! Cue cheesy quotes: What do you mean? Flash Gordon approaching!?and the classic: Flash, I love you! But we only have x hours to save the Earth! :)
Guest awarner (MVP) Posted August 19, 2006 Report Posted August 19, 2006 You like Flash Gordon and then slate Iron Eagle lol And One Vision was not in Highlander but another good track Princes of the Universe was. Flash only just makes it though as it was released on 1980
Guest Pondrew Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 Prob just that I found it easier to suspend disbelief for Flash Gordon with it being sci-fi and all (and lets face it, twas so bad it was good!) whereas Iron Eagle was just WAY too unlikely :D
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 And One Vision was not in Highlander but another good track Princes of the Universe was. Who said it was? :D P
Guest awarner (MVP) Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 The confusion is due to One Vision being on the Kind of Magic album which which most perople consider as the sound track of the Highlander film. I actually have the queen Flash album somewhere, wonder what it's worth :D
Guest Pondrew Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 Who knows? Collectable items go for loads on Ebay but audio cds don't!
Guest James Posted August 22, 2006 Report Posted August 22, 2006 better bin my 'The Karate Kid' Album then.. :D
