Guest fellipeh Posted August 18, 2006 Report Posted August 18, 2006 I try, but I dont know english very well, and I dont know how to search, can you help me?
Guest Pondrew Posted August 18, 2006 Report Posted August 18, 2006 Be nice Mini_man :) Hi fellipeh, unfortunately I don't believe anyone has succeeded in developing universal remote software for the Motorola or HTC Smartphones due to issues communicating with the infra red hardware. Samsung's i300 Smartphone comes with universal remote software which works on the Samsung hardware.

Guest mini_man Posted August 18, 2006 Report Posted August 18, 2006 Sorry. One software developer on the forum called Tech is in the middle of creating one and apparently is 90% finished! Which is excellent news for all of us! Sam
Guest Pondrew Posted August 18, 2006 Report Posted August 18, 2006 No apology needed! I've been exasperated by the number of 'is there any universal remote software available for the Smartphone' threads in the past too although admittedly that was before Samsung showed that it is indeed possible with their hardware by bundling a software solution on the cd that came with the i300. Methinks that the new software solution you mention won't be compatible with all Smartphone models given the frustration experienced by past developers who tried on the HTC Smartphones. Of course many of the HTC Pocket PC Phones have long been able to function as universal remotes running Pocket PC software solutions...
Guest coldwave87 Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 I noticed that all windows mobile devices, even with PPC like Qtek 9100 with Ti OMAP 850 200 Mhz processor will not be able to use remote control softwares. Samsung i300 uses Intel Bulveder 400 Mhz which is the same as in i-mate jam and many others, therefore remote control can be used on it.

NoviiRemote is a perfect Pocket PC program which enables you to control multpile devices using standard or usewr defined templates.
