Message Notification for Subfolders

Currently, whenever I receive an email (I'm using exchange over GPRS) or text message, my phone plays a sound and displays a notification. If I receive an email in a subfolder of the INBOX (of the exchange account, email moved by a server side rule), I get no notification whatsoever - it just places the message in that folder quitely, defeating the purpose of instantaneous receipt.

Is there any way to enable notification of such emails?

Unless there has been a fix fecently, new message notification only works on the inbox.
