What is an SDA II

Hi guys. my girlfriend has decided she wants a new phone. She wants a windows mobile phone but doesn't want a "geek phone" like my wizard.she wants one that looks like a phone. anyway she has decided that she likes the look of the T Mobile SDA II. I have been given the task of deciding if the phone is any good. however I'm not sure what device it actually is. I have read somewhere that it was an HTC Tornado so that would make it the same as the C600?

Am I right? If not what model phone is it really?

Hey Steev,

The SDA II from T-Mobile UK is an HTC Hurricane. Orange used to sell the HTC Hurricane albeit in a different case as the SPV C550 (and possibly still do until they clear stock).

In truth it's a slightly outdated model simply because no update of the operating system was released and as a result it's left with Windows Mobile 2003SE where all the latest Smartphones are running Windows Mobile 5.

The confusion over the SDA II being an HTC Tornado is probably due to the T-Mobile USA SDA being an HTC Tornado and having a similar case to the UK SDA II.

Thanks for that. I had a feeling I had got it wrong. On the T Mobile website its the only one that doesn't say windows mobile 5. it just says Windows Mobile. Its a bit odd that T Mob are selling such a dated device on their site. do they have a more up to date handset? I was trying to get her to go for an orange device but she is dead set on t mob because of their tarifs.

oh well. I suppose it wont bother her .hopefully she'll get hooked on smartphones and want an up to date one when she gets her next phone.
