Guest coercri Posted August 22, 2006 Report Posted August 22, 2006 I seem to have a problem where my Orange SPV M3100 wont turn on when its been on charge overnight, the greenlight is still flashing, but only a reset will solve it. Anyone else have a problem like this??
Guest jimbouk Posted August 22, 2006 Report Posted August 22, 2006 Haven't seen this. Are you completely powering it off overnight or leaving it in standby? Are you charging it from the mains or via USB?

Guest greyt Posted August 22, 2006 Report Posted August 22, 2006 Definately sounds software related. Egress RSS reader does this to me if I use the Today plugin with it....
Guest coercri Posted August 23, 2006 Report Posted August 23, 2006 What have u got installed? P I have installed - Agile Messenger (not used much) Pocket Player Resco File Explorer SKSchema PocketZenPhone Audible Lexisgoo Metro Newsbreak Opera Pocket Artist Pocket eSword PQzII Tombraider UBook Pocket Breeze Pocket Controller Pro I also have some games installed. I thought I'd seen somewhere that this is a problem, am I wrong?? Or perhaps it's just my device! Any Ideas??
Guest zen123 Posted August 23, 2006 Report Posted August 23, 2006 (edited) Yep mine does it aswell two mornings in row, the green light still flashing but pressing any button does not wake it up. I've only got Magic Button & Fizz Traveller installed. I've set an early morning alarm in Fizz. Only a soft reset cures it & after the phone boots up my Fizz alarm goes off. Also I enabled the battery meter in the Magic button program so I not sure if thats causing it. I'll disable that feature tonight & see what happens in the morning. This SPV is not looking like a good idea so far. I still got 2 trial days left before I decide to send it back or not. See post http://www.modaco.com/One-more-chance-t244508.html Edited August 23, 2006 by zen123
Guest unfitguy Posted August 23, 2006 Report Posted August 23, 2006 same problem here dead this morning no matter what buttons i press or how long i hold them for, have spb pocket plus, agile messenger and all the tweaks installed suggested in must have software I'll see what tomorrow brings
Guest unfitguy Posted August 23, 2006 Report Posted August 23, 2006 (edited) Still think this baby rocks though Edited August 23, 2006 by unfitguy
Guest zen123 Posted August 24, 2006 Report Posted August 24, 2006 Anyway I've done a(nother) hard reset & only loaded Fizz Traveller (this is a must have program for me). I'll set my usual early morning alarm & put the phone on charge & lets see what happens.
Guest sgray Posted August 24, 2006 Report Posted August 24, 2006 I have the same problem. this morning it would not awake from standby when mains charging. I have agile messenger installed, but its not signed in. It also periodically will not wake from standby during the day too.

Guest coercri Posted August 24, 2006 Report Posted August 24, 2006 hiya does the problem still exist for you after removing Agile Messenger? Which version did you have installed? Orange are replacing my handset tomorrow, do lets hope it not a bad batch or something!
Guest blackparagon Posted August 27, 2006 Report Posted August 27, 2006 I just had this problem too - will try removing agile messenger and see if it happens again.
Guest Syphon Filter Posted August 27, 2006 Report Posted August 27, 2006 i've had this issue too. I think I have narrowed it down to having the 'today plugin' of SPB Pocket Plus enabled. I have disabled the today plugin and I think it has solved the problem. I will do some more tests and let you guys know how it goes.

Guest Syphon Filter Posted August 28, 2006 Report Posted August 28, 2006 I have SPB Pocket Plus and the "today plugin" on and haven't had this issue... You're right. I just had this issue again. I have uninstalled 'Batti' to see if that helps. I'll narrow it down sooner or later. But in the meantime it makes th device useless if you need to be contacted while its on charge. Or if you intend to use it as an alarm clock! Anyone else managed to work out what is causing the problem? I have a feeling it is to do with the battery charging...and the plugins updating as the charge levels change or something. not sure though just a hunch.
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted August 28, 2006 Report Posted August 28, 2006 It's not Batti, I use that and it's fine every morning. From your list I also have installed (all latest versions): Resco File Explorer Opera Pocket Controller Pro Keep removing till you find the problem, starting with fancy stuff with system hooks (e.g. PQz?) P
Guest Syphon Filter Posted August 28, 2006 Report Posted August 28, 2006 no no, I don't think it's just Batti. But I think in conjunction with spb pocket plus there may be a problem? Perhaps the two battery monitoring bits are fighting with each other? The only things I have installed now are: spb diary spb pocket plus phm regedit Will see how it goes. What is PQz?
Guest boyo69 Posted August 28, 2006 Report Posted August 28, 2006 had the same problem http://www.modaco.com/HTC-TyTN-Problems-t244096.html i had magic button installed hard reset and didn't install magic button - no longer have the problem however, others have the problem without magic button so 50-50 what i can say is that i was in a hotel which was flicking between 3g and gprs all night so perhaps that had something to do with it?
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted August 28, 2006 Report Posted August 28, 2006 I'm using Magic Button, no problems. P
Guest Syphon Filter Posted August 28, 2006 Report Posted August 28, 2006 I am sure this is a software problem. I am too reliant on SPB Diary and Plus to uninstall those yet but that is now all I am running. Going to see how it goes and keep you posted. I cant think of anything hardware related that would cause this. Unlsss the device overheats when on charge and just hangs... All speculation. I will let you know how "my base build" which is the latest HTC TyTN ROM, SPB Diary, SPB Pocket Plus and PHM regedit goes. I am hoping it will be fine. But just in case I have set a different alarm clock!!
Guest blackparagon Posted August 30, 2006 Report Posted August 30, 2006 Hi guys. I had this, a hard reset got rid of it - I think it was batti causing the problem, as my whole phone went mental as soon as I installed it again (freezing up, glitching from screen to screen) and then went ok again when I removed it.
Guest Syphon Filter Posted August 30, 2006 Report Posted August 30, 2006 batti in conjunction with spb pocket plus was causing the issue for me.
Guest magic_peanuts Posted August 30, 2006 Report Posted August 30, 2006 This will throw a spanner in the works, I have a completely hard resetted device that does this. Any clues as to what it can be?
