Guest louisw Posted August 23, 2006 Report Posted August 23, 2006 I am trying to use slingplayer mobile from my vario II. I have a vario ii and get the message - "Unable to connect to Slingbox" (I am on T-mobile web n walk pro - uk). Same result using 1.0 release and 1.1 beta. (I just got the device today so this is my first try) Has anyone been successful?
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted August 23, 2006 Report Posted August 23, 2006 I've not tried 1.1 yet, but 1.0 works fine. I'll install 1.1 and try it now! P

Guest louisw Posted August 23, 2006 Report Posted August 23, 2006 Well. It works from Wifi but not from UMTS. hmmm Is t-mobile blocking port 21?
Guest julianmclean Posted August 23, 2006 Report Posted August 23, 2006 Well. It works from Wifi but not from UMTS. hmmm Is t-mobile blocking port 21? So are you running SlingPlayer over port 21? Its configurable on the normal client, so I'm guessing it is on the mobile version (but I haven't tried it yet - will do when I get my V2). Have you tried running it over 80 or 443 instead (web ports)? I guess it is possible that they are monitoring traffic for video streams, but I doubt it - you could try running over a SSH tunnel which should be a little less detectable. Interested to know if T-mobile block any ports at all on WnW and/or WnW Pro - anyone know?
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted August 23, 2006 Report Posted August 23, 2006 I don't think they block any ports, I use FTP (on port 21) frequently on WnW. P
Guest mitman Posted August 23, 2006 Report Posted August 23, 2006 I thought slingplayer was only designed to be used over a LAN or WLAN connection. Would there be a way or T-mob to identify it as streaming media and therefore block it? On a different subject...... Where did you get a european version of pocketslingplayer from cos I want it. :D
Guest battletank Posted September 2, 2006 Report Posted September 2, 2006 Working here very successfully on (default) port 5001.
Guest mitman Posted September 3, 2006 Report Posted September 3, 2006 Do you have to have Web 'n' walk pro for streaming slingplayer or can you use the standard package? If so, does it apply to video or audio streaming or both?
Guest bashi007 Posted September 3, 2006 Report Posted September 3, 2006 Its working perfectly , video and audio , i have web n walk pro.
