Im going to set a website up for my own fun and possibly in the future turn it into a commercial site selling stuff.

Can anyone point me to a reliable web hosting service? i really dont have a clue about any of them, Im looking for hosting and name registration in one .

Cheers

I buy domains from www.clickaname.com for .com's and ukreg.com for .co.uk's, which was the cheapest way round last time i checked. I forget the url fo my host, but can find out and will post details later.

I host Mobiholics and some of my other sites with Servage - http://www.Servage.net.

Insanely good value, and if you use the coupon code 'USEN', you get another quid off! :D

I use 123reg.

Some home broadband packages include some webspace anyway - so you can buy the domain name from someone for pennies, then point it at your own space - if not, most of the domain name sites offer a hosting solution too.

You want to work out what you want the site to do, what program you will use to design the site and whether you need specific server extensions (as some hosting packages charge more for these).
