Guest rpopo Posted August 23, 2006 Report Posted August 23, 2006 So I've just installed mgmaps, but every time I use it, it asks permission to connect to the internet - very annoying. Can someone tell me how to configure this off?
Guest matho Posted August 23, 2006 Report Posted August 23, 2006 (edited) So I've just installed mgmaps, but every time I use it, it asks permission to connect to the internet - very annoying. Can someone tell me how to configure this off? Do you get the same message when you start Pocket Internet Explorer (PIE)? If so, you can disable this in the registry. You'll need a registry editor, such as Resco Explorer [here]. (Fiddling with the Registry can be dangerous, so do this at your own risk!) In the registry, navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/HTC. If there is a key there called "PIEplug", rename or delete the key, then Menu > Exit to close the registry editor. Soft reset the device by sticking your stylus in the hole at the bottom of the device. This should stop the message popping up when you go online. Hope that helps! Edited August 23, 2006 by matho
