Guest kraz Posted August 24, 2006 Report Posted August 24, 2006 I gather there is a registry key in WM 5, which contains the MMS GPRS sending profile. In Orange firmwares this shows up as "Orange MMS" in various connection settings. On a clean firmware, I've only got Internet, Work and two types of WAP. I guess that I need to enter my own connection settings, which I have, into the registry. Does anyone have the Orange registry keys for me to enter or modify, or is there another way to do that? Thanks in advance.

Settings for orange UK can be found HERE As for entering MMS settings: Start>Messaging>MMS>Menu>Options>Account Options>MMS>Menu>MMSC Settings Then enter the mms settings under a new profile. Then in Connections in Settings in the start menu, select GPRS, and enter the following in a new connection Access Point Name: orangemms Username: Orange Password: Multimedia Authentication: Normal Data bearer: GPRS Gateway IP (proxy) address: 192.168.224.10 Hope that helps :D Phil Edited August 25, 2006 by The Doctor
Guest kraz Posted August 25, 2006 Report Posted August 25, 2006 (edited) Thanks for the answer! However my network is not maintaned by Orange, it's Era (a subsidiary of T-mobile). The specific problem I'm having is that during the configuration of MMSC settings, I need to choose the "Connect via" option (available options are The Internet, Work, WAP etc.). In Orange ROMs, there is another option there, which is called "Orange MMS". On vanilla ROMs, there's no such thing. The GPRS connections I configure in the "Connections/GPRS" section do not show up in the "Connect via" box in the MMSC settings. So, basically, how do I configure or hack in the GPRS connection data, which can then be used in the "Connect via" box? :} If I enter my MMS settings in the GPRS connections, and configure my MMSC info the way I'm supposed to, but enter "The Internet" as "Connect Via" in the MMSC settings, it doesn't work. ;/ EDIT: If someone does have an MMS Connection in the "Connect via" box, please post the registry values from the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Comm/ConnMGR/Destinations/MMS Connection (or Orange MMS), particularly the "destid" Thanks! Guest kraz Posted August 30, 2006 Report Posted August 30, 2006 Come on, all it takes is one willing person with a registry editor ;] The key value in your phone is here: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Comm/ConnMGR/Destinations/MMS Connection/destid Please? :D
Guest bkraptor Posted September 9, 2006 Report Posted September 9, 2006 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\ConnMgr\Destinations] [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\ConnMgr\Destinations\MMS Network] "Secure"=dword:00000000 "DestId"="{750123DE-02CC-4AC1-85D7-CA7BDD364D0D}" [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\ConnMgr\Destinations\The Internet] "Secure"=dword:00000000 "DestId"="{436EF144-B4FB-4863-A041-8F905A62C572}" [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\ConnMgr\Destinations\Work] "Secure"=dword:00000000 "DestId"="{A1182988-0D73-439E-87AD-2A5B369F808B}" [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\ConnMgr\Destinations\WAP Network] "Secure"=dword:00000000 "DestId"="{7022E968-5A97-4051-BC1C-C578E2FBA5D9}" [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\ConnMgr\Destinations\Secure WAP Network] "Secure"=dword:00000000 "DestId"="{F28D1F74-72BE-4394-A4A7-4E296219390C}" hope it helps PS: was too lazy to copy the whole string by hand.
Guest scudo Posted September 10, 2006 Report Posted September 10, 2006 PS: was too lazy to copy the whole string by hand. Hi why not use mobile registry editor or registry workshop ? both can export registry hives in one click... :D
Guest bkraptor Posted September 10, 2006 Report Posted September 10, 2006 Because I had no clue such software existed. Thanks for the tip.
Guest Mancom Posted September 10, 2006 Report Posted September 10, 2006 For geting mms service to work, choose Connect to "Secure wap network" (polish: Bezpieczna sieć wap) in Conections settings and in mms profile in mms setting also choose "Secure wap network" Sorry guys, now in Polish language specialy for author of this topic: Aby Ci działały mmsy w erze, utw
Guest bkraptor Posted September 12, 2006 Report Posted September 12, 2006 Once I flashed to the Imate ROM, it wouldn't work unless I set it to connect to the WAP Network, Secure WAP Network wouldn't work for me (Orange RO).
