Guest harrogate22 Posted August 24, 2006 Report Posted August 24, 2006 Hi, Can anyone please tell me if it is possible for my to access the internet from my laptop via my T-Mobile Vario? I have Bluetooth on both laptop and Vario, and I also have contact between them through Activesync. I just wondered if it is possible to use the Vario as a sort of modem to access GPRS. Thanks, Ken

Thanks, Ken This should be really easy! First of all you need to pair the handset to laptop. Depending on which BT software you are using (XP SP2 is most probably the easiest), you will need to ensure that the Dial-up Networking modem is installed. Within most BT software if you right-click on [your paired device name] you can view services. From here double click on "DUN" and this should install the modem. If you are very lucky, by simply entering in a random password and dialling *99# it may connect. If this fails, you may be better of creating a manaul connection (my preferred method) - - Navigate to the control panel - Double click Phone and Modem Options. - Click the Modems tab. - Highlight Standard Modem over Bluetooth link and click Properties. - Click the Advanced tab. - In the Extra initialization commands box, enter at+cgdcont=1,
